Jon Friedman Internet Program: Job Interview at Hasbro

Very excited to share this. I illustrated/animated this little short for Jon, and even did a quick voice for it! Done entirely in After Effects and Photoshop.

Also: I created the opening title sequence, very proud of this series. Go check out the rest of them. Each animated episode is done by a different artist (such as Edmond Hawkins, Sean Dooley & Hugo Marmugi, and OddTodd)

Presenting: “Roach” Recycling PSA

I’ve been keeping this thing a secret, but Im very excited to share it now. I made this little PSA for Refinery over the past few weeks. This short was done with a mix of flash/after effects/stop motion and shot on an iPhone 4S. It was a fun mix of traditional and puppet animation. Thanks to all the Refinery team members that helped push it along and make it look extra nice!

Coca Cola - “Bubbles” Spec Ad

Sometimes in the ad world we make commercials that never see the light of day, these are called “Spec” or “Swipe”. Basically we make them to try and sell an idea. This was one we made at Refinery that tried to deal with the idea of mentorship. I created and animated these little bubble dudes to try and show an idea passing from one generation to the next. Unfortunately it didn’t make the grade, but I still liked how it came out and thought I would share it.

So a week after the Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon Experiment happened I was interviewed by a few people. One of those people published that interview in a real life book! Yesterday I got a copy of said book all the way from Angela Thomas-Jones in Australia. It’s actually pretty crazy reading an interview from 3 years ago, at the time I had no idea that the reach of that experiment would take me to new opportunities and new cities. I can easily say that experiment was a huge success in my life.

You can said book purchase it here, or just ask me questions in my ask box if you’re ever curious.

Monthly Shirt #08: Speech Bubble

First off we are changing this thing up a bit. We have done a new shirt every 7 days for the last 7 weeks. It has been rewarding and also a learning experience. One of the big things I learned is that making a new design and screen-printing it every week is too fast of a turnaround to properly allow the design to sell. So we have decided to slow it down from this point and do monthly shirts, which isn’t to say we wont release more than one in a month, but we will leave them up longer. Allowing more time to decide on orders and more time for us utilize the the screens we are burning.

This week’s design is up in the air, its a guy saying something. “What?” you ask? Well whatever you want. Use a sharpie and write in something. Or if you prefer we can write in a message for you.  Or leave it blank, we wont care or judge you either way.

It’s available here for one month.

Thanks,

Ashley & Bryan
